Description:

Large SC based firm is seeking an experienced CPA/Tax Professional with six (6) plus years of public accounting experience for Charleston, SC office.

The successful candidate:

  • minimum a BS in Accounting
  • CPA with extensive experience providing client services in the areas of healthcare
  • individual and business taxation, consulting, supervision and review of tax engagements
  • preparation and review of tax returns, business development and staff development skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required

Job Functions Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Provide tax compliance and planning services to clients
  • Proactively research complex tax issues to determine impact on the client’s financial position; present findings and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Review work prepared by staff; recommend changes, additional documentation, research, etc. as necessary to comply with tax law and firm policy
  • Develop, motivate and train tax team members
  • Grow client base in the Lowcountry market area through new business development activities such as speaking engagements, attending networking events, tradeshows, and industry meetings; educate clients and prospective clients on the breadth of services the firm offers
  • Pursue opportunities to provide additional services and to grow the practice
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MACC or Masters in Tax preferred
  • CPA license, Six (6) years recent accounting firm experience, including managing multiple tax projects
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships, simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
  • Engaging personality and desire to foster client and internal relationships
  • Significant experience working with all types of entity taxes
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency preferred in CCH, Document and MS Office
